Hall And Morgan Medal At IAAF World Youth Championships

    Dior Hall shown running 12.92 in the 100m hurdles to set the national high school record and place second at ther IAAF World Junior Championships.

    Incoming freshmen Dior Hall in the 100m HH and Ricky Morgan in the 4x400m relay won medals for USA at the IAAF World Youth Championships held in Eugene, Ore. from July 22-27. Also, several graduated Trojans competed at the 2014 Run Track Town High Performance Meet in Eugene on July 27, including Aleec Harris who won and bettered his school record and set the Pac-12 record in the 110m HH.

    Hall won a silver medal in the women's 100m hurdles race and set a national high school record with a PR of 12.92 in the final on July 27. Hall was edged out by fellow American and 2014 NCAA heptathlon champion from Georgia Kendell Williams, who had a time of 12.89. Both runners beat the previous IAAF World Youth Championships meet record of 12.96 set in 1988 by Cuba's Aliuska Lopez.

    Morgan ran the third leg for USA's winning 4x400m relay which clocked a time of 3:03.31 to win the gold medal. That time was the fourth-fastest in meet history and the best mark by a U.S. 19-and-under quartet in a decade.

    Also at the IAAF World Youth Championships, soon-to-be sophomore Alex Rohani placed 32nd in the men's 400m race with a time of 48.03. He competed at the meet representing Iran.

    Harris won the 110m HH race with a PR of 13.14 (+1.2) at the 2014 Run Track Town High Performance Meet in Eugene on July 27. His time bettered his school record which had been 13.18 and included in the field of athletes he defeated were Aires Merritt, the world record-holder and reigning Olympic Champion and Jason Richardson, the 2011 world champion in the 110m HH. Harris also re-gained the Pac-12 record from Devon Allen of Oregon who ran 13.16 in the 2014 NCAA final.

    Graduated senior Jessica Davis placed seventh in the women's 100m dash with a time of 11.60 and Jesse Williams won the men's high jump with a clearance of 7-5.25 (2.27m).
