EUGENE, Ore. - The offense of the No. 12 Oregon Ducks was too much for the USC baseball team on Saturday, as it fell 7-2 at PK Park on Saturday afternoon.

The Ducks pounded out seven runs on 11 hits, as they were led by infielder Mitchell Tolman who drove in four runs on two hits. A.J. Balta also connected on a two-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning.

The Trojans showed fight in the latter innings, after knocking out Ducks starter Matt Krook, who was lights out, holding the Trojans to just two runs on two hits while striking out six and walking four in 6.1 innings of work.

Omar Cotto Lozada (San Juan, Puerto Rico/The Bonneville School), entered as a pinch hitter in the sixth inning and then came through in the seventh inning with a big two-out single up the middle to drive in the Trojans two runs on the day.

AJ Ramirez (Bakersfield, Calif./Bakersfield Christian HS) led the Trojans with two hits on the day, going 2-for-4 at the plate.

Trojan starter Bob Wheatley (Villa Park, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS) took the loss and Trojan relievers Brooks Kriske (Palm Desert, Calif./Palm Desert HS) and Nigel Nootbaar (El Segundo, Calif./El Segundo HS) were able to stop some of the bleeding.
