LOS ANGELES - The USC baseball team won another game in walk-off fashion on Saturday afternoon at Dedeaux Field, as Reggie Southall delivered the RBI sac fly in the bottom of the ninth to bring home the game-winning run.

The Trojans have now won five games this season in walk-off fashion and two with game-winners in the bottom of the ninth inning.

The Trojans found themselves in an early 2-0 hole, as the Utes got two in the top of the first inning off starter Bob Wheatley (Villa Park, Calif./Orange Lutheran HS).

The Trojans fought back though, getting on the board in the second inning as Dante Flores (Norwalk, Calif./St. John Bosco) went yard, a towering solo shot to right field for his second home run of the year.

In the bottom of the fourth inning, the Trojans tied things up, again with Flores bringing home the run. Jeremy Martinez (Fountain Valley, Calif./Mater Dei HS) led off the inning with a walk, a groundout advanced him to second and a wild pitch moved him to third with just one out. That allowed Flores to come through with a groundout RBI to tie things up 2-2.

Both the Trojans and Utes had multiple opportunities in the late innings, but in the bottom of the ninth the Trojans got the best of the Utes.

With one down, Jake Hernandez (Rancho Cucamonga, Calif./Los Osos HS) connected on his second hit of the day to give the Trojans a base runner against reliever Dalton Carroll. Hernandez was lifted for pinch runner Turner Clouse (Fountain Valley, Calif./Fountain Valley HS). Against lefty specialist Dylan Drachler, Flores was hit by the pitch to put two on. After Timmy Robinson (Huntington Beach, Calif./Ocean View HS) walked to load the bases against new pitcher Bret Helton, Southall (Gardena, Calif./Serra HS) delivered the sac fly RBI to deep center, plating Clouse for the game-winning run.

The rubber match of the series is set for 1 p.m. PT on Sunday (April 13) at Dedeaux Field.
