Big Innings Propel No. 6 USC to 5-0 Victory Over No. 7 UCLA to Even Series|

LOS ANGELES - The No. 6 USC Trojans gave the No. 7 Bruins some of their own medicine from game one, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning and never looked back, cruising to a 5-0 victory to even the series 1-1 on Saturday evening at Dedeaux Field.
Senior second baseman Dante Flores (Norwalk, Calif./St. John Bosco HS) had a huge two-out double off the wall in right center field to plate two runs in the bottom of the first inning to give the Trojans a 2-0 lead off Bruin (24-7, 11-3) starter Grant Watson.
Trojan (26-8, 8-3 Pac-12) Starter Kyle Twomey (Placentia, Calif./El Dorado HS) took things the rest of the way, throwing an outstanding seven complete innings, scattering seven hits and striking out seven while walking just three. He pitched out of a bases loaded, just one out jam in the fourth inning with two big strikeouts and again got a big strikeout to get out of the jam to end the top of the seventh.
Bobby Stahel (Needles, Calif./Palos Verdes HS) hit his second home run in as many games, this time a two-run shot in the bottom of the second inning to make it 4-0.
The Trojans added an insurance run in sixth inning, as Stahel singled home Angelo La Bruna (La Canada, Calif./Loyola HS) off reliever Cody Poteet, who entered in the inning with one down and one on.
Tyler Gilbert (Felton, Calif./Santa Barbara City College) threw two scoreless innings to close out the game.
The rubber match is set for 2 p.m. PT on Sunday at Dedeaux Field. The game will be televised live on Pac-12 Networks.
