LOS ANGELES - Patrick Rose went 3-for-5 with four RBI Saturday as the UC Santa Barbara Gauchos beat the host USC Trojans, 23-2, in nonconference action at Dedeaux Field. UCSB (26-11) banged out 19 hits and took advantage of a USC (19-18) pitching staff that allowed 10 walks and hit five batters.

Mario Holland (4-2) went six innings and allowed just one run on nine hits with three walks and five strikeouts.

UCSB batted around three times in the game, posting five runs in the third and seventh innings with a seven-run sixth inning breaking open the game.

Mike Zuanich hit his 11th homer of the season with a two-run shot in the fifth to knock out USC starter Brad Boxberger, who gave up seven runs in 4 1/3 innings. Steve Cook's two-run homer off the top of the fence in center capped the seven-run sixth inning.

Tomorrow's series finale starts at 1 p.m. in Santa Barbara and will be broadcast live on usctrojans.com.
