Twomey managed to get the Trojans out of trouble on two occasions in the evening. In the fourth inning, the junior pitched out of a bases loaded, just one out jam by striking out the final two batters. To end his outing, Twomey faced another jam in the seventh as he responded with another pivotal strikeout to maintain the shutout in the 5-0 win over UCLA.

Along with the run support by Bobby Stahel and Dante Flores, Twomey claimed his sixth win of the season while lowering his earned run average to an outstanding 1.79. The Trojans will next travel to Malibu, Calif. to face Pepperdine on April 14, at 3:00 p.m.
