USC Baseball With Successful Summer Ball Experiences

    The USC baseball team spread out around the country, from Cape Cod to Alaska this past summer to hone their craft. They have all reunited back in Los Angeles after their successful summers and will get started with fall practices soon. Check out below to see how each returner that played summer ball fared.

    Carl Aguirre - Redding Colt 45s (Far West League)
    *Batted .636 in four games with seven hits
    *Recorded two doubles and two home runs with four RBI
    *Colts finished the season with a 33-13 record

    Turner Clouse - Palm Springs Power (Southern California Collegiate Baseball League)
    *Hit .238 in 23 games with 15 hits
    *Recorded three doubles with 10 RBI
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Brooks Kriske
    *Power won their fourth straight Southern California Collegiate Baseball League Championship

    Joe Corrigan - Santa Paula Halos (California Collegiate League)
    *Batted .270 with 24 hits
    *Recorded five doubles and 11 RBI for the season
    *Halos finished the season 22-27 and placing fourth in the California Collegiate League South Division

    Kyle Davis - Chatham Anglers (Cape Cod League)
    *Awarded the Zane Carlson Outstanding Relief Pitcher Award
    *Named to the Cape Cod League East Division All-Star team
    *Pitched in 17 games (one start) in 29.2 innings of work
    *Had a 2-1 record with five saves and a 5.15 ERA
    *Anglers finished the season in fifth place in the East Division of the Cape Cod League with a record of 17-26-1

    Corey Dempster - Springfield Sliders (Prospect League)
    *Hit .233 with 45 hits
    *Recorded three doubles, one triple, and one home run
    *Had 14 RBI for the season
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, A.J. Fritts
    *Sliders finished the in fifth place in the West Division of the Prospect League with a record of 9-21


     

     

    Bernardo Flores - Anchorage Glacier Pilots (Alaska League)
    *Pitched in five games and threw a total of 20 innings of work
    *Finished the season with a 5.40 ERA
    *Glacier Pilots finished the season 20-22 and placed second in the National League of the Alaska Baseball League

    Aaron Fritts - Springfield Sliders (Prospect League)
    *Batted .264 in 36 games
    *Had 29 hits recording six doubles and 13 RBI
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Corey Dempster
    *Sliders finished the in fifth place in the West Division of the Prospect League with a record of 9-21

    Marc Huberman - Newport Gulls (New England Collegiate League)
    *Named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League Southern Division All-Star team
    *Pitched in 18 games throwing in 26 innings
    *Recorded an ERA of 1.73
    *Gulls were the champions of the New England Collegiate Baseball League with a record of 25-17

    Brooks Kriske - Palm Springs Power (Southern California Collegiate Baseball League)
    *Named Southern California Collegiate Baseball League Pitcher of the Year
    *Went 7-0 for the season with a 1.94 ERA in 51 innings
    *Lead the team in strikeouts, recording 48 for the season and only 12 walks
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Turner Clouse
    *Team placed first in the Southern California Collegiate Baseball League

    Angelo La Bruna - Valley Blue Sox (New England Collegiate League)
    * Named to the New England Collegiate Baseball League Northern Division All-Star team
    *Batted .301 for the season in 32 games
    *Had 31 hits, recording seven doubles and one home run
    *Finished the season with 11 RBI
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Bobby Stahel
    *Blue Sox placed sixth in the Northern Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League

    Blake Lacey - Wareham Gatemen (Cape Cod League)
    *Batted .214 for the season in 34 games with 22 hits
    *Recorded eight doubles and nine RBI
    *Gatemen placed fifth in the Cape Cod League West Division with a record of 14-28

    Jeff Paschke - Peninsula Oilers (Alaska League)
    *Batted .259 in 32 games with 28 hits
    *Recorded seven doubles for the season with 11 RBI
    *Was a two-way player as he also pitched
    *Pitched in 12 games and threw a total of 13.1 innings
    *Finished the season with a 2.02 ERA
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Andrew Wright
    *Oilers placed third in the American League of the Alaska Baseball League with a record of 20-25

    A.J. Ramirez - Ocean State Waves (New England Collegiate League)
    *Batted .263 in 40 games with 35 hits
    *Had 22 runs with an RBI of 25
    *Recorded nine doubles, one triple, and four home runs
    *Waves placed second in the Western Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League with a record of 24-20

    Frankie Rios - Willmar Stingers (Northwoods League)
    *Batted .221 in 51 games
    *Had 38 hits with five of those being doubles and one homerun
    *Recorded 16 RBI for the season
    *Stingers placed first in the Northern Division of the Northwoods League with a record of 46-26

    Timmy Robinson - Orleans Firebirds (Cape Cod League)
    *Had limited playing time for the Firebirds due to injury
    *Appeared in 12 games, batted .308 with three doubles, one triple and two home runs
    * Drove in seven runs, tallied 12 hits
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Kyle Twomey
    *Firebirds placed second in the Eastern Division of the Cape Cod League with a record of 24-19

    Reggie Southall - Santa Barbara Foresters (California Collegiate League)
    *Batted .190 with 12 hits
    *Recorded one double, one triple, and 10 RBI for the season
    *Helped Foresters to place first in the California Collegiate League Central Division with a record of 31-8
    *Foresters also won their fifth National Baseball Congress World Series championship

    Bobby Stahel - Valley Blue Sox (New England Collegiate League)
    *Batted .263 over 34 games with 31 hits
    *Recorded nine doubles, two home runs and 19 RBI for the season
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Angelo La Bruna
    *Blue Sox placed sixth in the Northern Division of the New England Collegiate Baseball League with a record of 14-28

    Kyle Twomey - Orleans Firebirds (Cape Cod League)
    *Pitched in 14 games (five starts) in 40.1 innings
    *Recorded an ERA of 2.23
    * Struck out 39 batters
    * Named the 14th-best prospect in the Cape Cod League by Baseball America
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Timmy Robinson
    *Firebirds placed second in the Eastern Division of the Cape Cod League with a record of 24-18

    Andrew Wright - Peninsula Oilers (Alaska League)
    *Pitched in one game and threw in five innings as was limited by injury
    *Finished the season with an ERA of 1.80
    *Batted .429 in three games
    *Recorded three hits, one of them a double
    *Played with fellow Trojan teammate, Jeff Paschke
    *Oilers placed third in the American League of the Alaska Baseball League with a record of 20-25
