Brad Boxberger Selected To AFL Rising Stars Game|

LOS ANGELES--Former USC pitcher and current Cincinnati Reds prospect Brad Boxberger was selected to the Arizona Fall League's Rising Stars Game it was announced Monday (Nov. 1).
In 10 1/3 innings of work this fall with the Phoenix Desert Dogs, Boxberger has recorded 18 strikeouts and four walks.
In his three-year career at USC (2007-09), Boxberger was 11-12 with a 3.81 ERA. He made 37 starts in 46 games with one complete game and three saves. In 234 innings, he allowed 201 hits and 99 earned runs while walking 110 and striking out 223 batters. Opponents hit just .235 against him in his career and he was an All-Pac-10 selection as a junior.
Boxberger was selected in the supplemental first round (43rd overall) of the 2009 draft by the Cincinnati Reds.
Boxberger, one of 50 prospects selected, will play on Saturday, Nov. 5 at Surprise Stadium in Surprise, Ariz. The game, slated to begin at 5 p.m. Mountain Time, will be broadcast live on MLB.com and MLB Network.
