Game Time for Sunday's Scrimmage Against San Diego Changed to 11:30 A.M.

    Senior Kevin Swick has the highest returing batting average (.305).

    LOS ANGELES - The time for Sunday, November 17th scrimmage against the University of San Diego at Dedeaux Field has been changed to 11:30 a.m. PT. The teams will play a full nine innings plus a few extra innings.

    This will be the first time this season that the Trojans have faced an opponent wearing a different colored uniform. The team boasts 27 returners, including six position starters and the entire weekend pitching rotation. 15 newcomers have also joined the fold for the 2014 campaign, and that class was named the 24th-best recruiting class in the country by Baseball America.

    USC Hangs On For 3-2 Win At No. 17 San Diego
    SAN DIEGO - Sophomore Kevin Couture (Coronado/Coronado HS) threw eight innings Wednesday while sophomore catcher/pitcher Robert Stock (Westlake Village/Agoura HS) earned his first save of the season as the USC Trojans upset the No. 17 ranked San Diego Toreros, 3-2. San Diego put runners at second and third in the ninth with no outs, but Stock recorded two key strikeouts to preserve the win.

    The Toreros, who are coached by 15th-year head coach Rich Hill will enter the 2014 season having made eight postseason appearances. In 2013, behind the hitting of slugger Kris Bryant, the Toreros won the WCC Tournament title and finished 37-25 overall, falling to the eventual College World Series champion UCLA Bruins in NCAA regional play.

    The Trojans have another scrimmage slated for next Saturday, November 23 at Long Beach State. The start time for the game is 12 p.m. PT.
