    The USC Trojans (10-11, 1-7) will play at the Oregon Ducks (14-6, 2-6) at Matthew Knight Arena in Eugene, Ore. at 5 p.m. on Feb. 1. USC is 1-6 on the road this season, 0-4 in Pac-12 road games. USC is under .500 for the first time since losing the season opener.

    USC loses tight game to No. 21 Oregon, 76-74
    The Trojans were down 75-67 with 2:11 remaining. Terrell, who had 22 points, made two free throws to cut Oregon's lead to 75-74 with 33.1 seconds left. USC was able to get the ball back but missed a 3-pointer and a couple of putbacks with Oregon's Arsalan Kazemi finally grabbing the rebound.

    THERE'S A FIRST TIME FOR EVERYTHING -- USC has lost consecutive games in overtime for the first time in school basketball history which began in 1907. USC last played consecutive overtime games on March 3 and March 6, 2007, losing to Washington State in double OT and then defeating Stanford in a single extra period. USC played a school-record three consecutive overtime games during the 2004 season and went 2-1 in those contests.

    BREAKING DOWN THE DUCKS - Oregon (14-6, 2-6) is coming off a 70-68 home loss to UCLA on Jan. 30 to fall to 9-3 at Matthew Knight Arena this season. The Ducks won their first 12 games of the season and were ranked No. 10. Four Ducks are averaging in double figures, led by transfers Joseph Young (18.0), Mike Moser (13.0) and Jason Calliste (12.3). USC leads the all-time series with Oregon 60-48 (2 wins vacacted from the 2008 season), but has lost the last six meetings. USC last defeated Oregon in the 2009 season, when it swept the season series.

    USC FALLS IN OVERTIME AT OREGON STATE -- Pe'Shon Howard had made all seven of his free throws and the Trojans had made 19 of 20 before Howard's second attempt after being fouled with 0.9 seconds left rimmed out and the Trojans fell 76-75 in overtime at Oregon State on Jan. 30. Howard had stolen a pass near midcourt and drove the lane where he was fouled to set up the dramatic ending. USC led 39-33 at the half behind 50.0 percent shooting, but made 33.3 percent in the second half and overtime. Oregon State's Hallice Cooke hit a three-pointer with 53 seconds left in regulation to tie the score at 72. USC surrendered 19 offensive rebounds to the Beavers which led to a 22-8 advantage for OSU on second-chance points. Bryron Wesley led USC with 23 points and Roberto Nelson, who hit the game-winner with 25 seconds left in overtime, finished with 24.

    RIVAL UCLA ON DECK -- USC's next game will be at the Galen Center vs. crosstown rival UCLA (17-4, 6-2) on Feb. 8 at 7:30 p.m. The USC women's team will also host UCLA on that day at 3 p.m. UCLA is coming off a 70-68 win at Oregon on Jan. 30 when Travis Wear scored on a putback with 5.3 seconds left. UCLA defeated USC 107-73 at Pauley Pavilion on Jan. 5 to begin Pac-12 play for both teams. The 107 points surrendered tied for the most that USC had allowed the Bruins in the all-time series (also in 1967). UCLA has four players averaging in double figues, led by sophomores Jordan Adams (17.3) and Kyle Anderson (15.0). USC trails in the all-time series 104-134 (1 win vacated in 2008).

    A FEW KEYS TO VICTORY -- USC is 8-1 when Nikola Jovanovic scores in double figures and is 8-2 when having more or as many assists as turnovers. USC is also 7-0 when holding the opposition to under 70 points and 8-0 when holding them to under 40.0 percent shooting.

    HOW KEY IS THE THREE? -- USC is 7-3 this season when making five or more three-pointers in a game and 8-1 when hitting 33.0 percent or more in a game. USC is 3-8 when its opponents make 33 percent or more of its three-point baskets. In the last seven games has USC shot 27.1 percent from three-point range (26-for-96). In Pac-12 play, USC has made 31 three-pointers, fewest in the conference. Oregon has made 56, tied for second in Pac-12 play.

    DEROZAN THE CHOSEN ONE -- Former Trojan DeMar DeRozan of the Toronto Raptors was named to the 2014 NBA All-Star Team on Jan. 30. DeRozan is averaging 21.8 points per game in his fifth season out of USC. He becomes the first USC player to be selected to play in the NBA All-Star game since Gus Williams of Seattle in 1983.

    SIGNS OF SLAM CITY -- USC had two dunks at Oregon State on Jan. 30 and now has out-slammed the opposition 58-29 this season. USC has eight games with at least four dunks, while the opposition has only two (5 - Villanova on Nov. 28 and 4- ASU on Jan. 9).

    NO VACATION WHEN HIT THE ROAD -- USC is 1-6 on the road this season. The combined home record of the first seven teams USC has faced on the road this season is 71-13 (through games of Jan. 30).

    GETTING TO THE LINE -- USC has taken 519 free throws through 21 games for an average of 24.7 per game. Last season through 21 games, USC averaged 18.0 free throw attempts (377 total). USC opponents this season have taken 21.2 free throws per game. USC has struggled at the free throw line this season (65.1 percent) with six games under 60.0 percent from the charity stripe. In the last four games USC has been called for 13 more fouls (86-73) and the opposition has taken 20 more free throws (110-90).

    PE'SHON, BACK IN THE SCORING COLUMN -- Guard Pe'Shon Howard is averaging 10.2 points per game this season and was even better in the seven games from Nov. 28-Dec. 22 when he averaged 15.4 points. Howard then went scoreless in the games vs. Howard and at UCLA while taking just four shots. He did however have 11 assists and nine rebounds in the two games. Howard scored 16 points at Utah on Jan. 16 after totaling 13 points in the previous four games (3.3 average). He also had 12 points and 10 assists vs. California on Jan. 22 and followed that up with 13 points and six assists vs. Stanford on Jan. 26. In the last three games he has averaged 13.7 points, 5.3 rebounds and 6 assists.
