1943 USC Men's Basketball All-American Gossard Passes Away|

Ted Gossard, a 1943 All-American guard on the USC men’s basketball team, died on March 31. He was 97.
Gossard was USC’s MVP and team captain in 1943, helping the Trojans to a 23-5 overall record and a conference championship. He also made the All-Conference team that season.
He lettered 3 years at USC (1941-42-43).
He also served in the Marine Corps.
After graduating from USC and then earning a master’s degree in education from USC, he taught physical education and coached boys basketball at Mira Costa High in Manhattan Beach (Calif.). He then became the principal at Aviation High in Redondo Beach (Calif.).
He is survived by his wife, Virginia, his daughters, Deborah and Penny, and two grandchildren.
There will be no funeral service.
