USC Adds Marquetti To The 2014-15 Men's Basketball Recruiting Class

    The USC men's basketball program has added wing Malik Marquetti to its 2014 recruiting class which already includes three top 150 ranked players in guard Jordan McLaughlin, forward Malik Price-Martin and center Jabari Craig, it was announced today (April 17) by USC men's basketball head coach Andy Enfield.

    "Malik is a versatile player than can play multiple positions," said Enfield. "Offensively he can score and make plays for his teammates. His long wing span and toughness make him an excellent defender and rebounder. We are excited for Malik to join our program!"

    Marquetti is a 6-6 athletic wing from Millikan HS in Long Beach, Calif. with a non-stop motor on both ends of the floor. He was named the Moore League MVP as he averaged a double-double with 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds per game. He also averaged 2.0 blocks, 2.5 assists and 2.4 steals per game. He scored more than 20 points in 19 of his 28 games, including a season-high 37 points in a win vs. Lakewood on Jan. 24. Marquetti had a season-best 22 rebounds and scored 27 points in a win vs. Taft on Dec. 26. He also made 49.2 percent of his three-point attempts as a senior (30-for-61).

    Marquetti is the nephew of former Trojan basketball player Leonel Marquetti.

    USC announced in November the signing of McLaughlin, an all-CIF first team selection and sixth-ranked point guard recruit according to, Malik Price-Martin the No. 4-ranked player in Florida according to 247Sports and Craig, a Rivals top 150 recruit.
