Crocker 67 Leads No. 3 USC In Southern Highlands Second Round

    Freshman Sean Crocker fired his team-best 15th round in the 60s this season, a 5-under 67, while sophomore Rico Hoey carded a 3-under 69 as the No. 3 USC men's golf team edged up to third after the second round of the Southern Highlands Collegiate Masters in Las Vegas on Tuesday (March 10).

    The Trojans combined for a second round 5-under 283 and moved into third at 6-under 570 (287-283), 12 back of leader Oklahoma State and 10 behind second-place Texas.

    Crocker, eyeing his this third straight top 5 finish and fifth overall after tying for first in his last event, registered another strong round with a seven-birdie day that saw him go 3-under going out and 2-under coming home. He is tied for third at 7-under 137 (70-67), one back of the lead.

    Sophomore Rico Hoey is tied for 14th at 3-under 141 (72-69). He was 2-under going out, including an eagle on the par 4 5th hole. He was still 2-under before finishing the final four holes with three birdies and a double bogey.

    Senior Eric Sugimoto is tied for 20th at 1-under 143 (71-72), junior Bobby Gojuangco is tied for 57th at 5-over 149 (74-75) and freshman Jonah Texeira is tied for 64th at 6-over 150 (75-75).
