No. 1 USC Pulls To Within A Stroke Of First At The Goodwin|

Results Junior Sean Crocker fired a 3-under 67 while senior Rico Hoey was also under par to lead No. 1 USC, in search of its fourth win this year, to within a stroke of first after the second round of The Goodwin at the Stanford (Calif.) G.C. on Friday (March 31).
USC, playing as the top-ranked team for the first time this season, registered the low round of the day thanks to an even 280 and now sit at 5-over 565 (285-280), one back of a host Stanford team that was 8-over today.
Crocker, inside the top 20 in all seven starts this season not to mention a recent win at the Italian Amateur, moved into sixth today at 1-under 139 (72-67) – three back of first -- thanks to a three-birdie round without a bogey. It was his 10th round under 70 this year.
Hoey is the only Trojan with more, posting his 11th such round Friday with a 69, bouncing back from a rare 80 in the first round to now sit tied for 55 at 9-over 149 (80-69).
Sophomore Justin Suh stayed in the hunt for first and is now tied for seventh at even 140 (70-70) thanks in part to a 2-under back 9.
Senior Andrew Levitt is tied for 30th at 6-over 146 (72-74) while freshman Cheng Jin is tied for 47th at 8-over 148 (71-77). Junior Jonah Texeira, playing individually, is tied for 40th at 8-over 147 (73-74).
