No. 1 USC, Justin Suh Both Claim First At Western Intercollegiate

    Sophomore Justin Suh won his first collegiate title today, capturing the Western Intercollegiate by four strokes.

    Justin Suh won his first career collegiate tournament today, leading three Trojans in the top 8 as the No. 1 USC men's golf team won the Western Intercollegiate at the Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Sunday (April 9) to close the regular season.

    USC won its fourth title of the year at even 1050 (347-348-355), 18 strokes better than second-place Stanford and 20 ahead of third-place Oregon. The field completed the second round to begin play this morning and followed with the final round.

    Suh captured his first college event at 5-under 205 (68-67-70), his third top 3 finish this season. He had five birdies in the final round and won by four strokes, leading throughout Sunday's action.

    Junior Sean Crocker tied for second at 1-under 209 (72-70-67) thanks to a 3-under final round, helping him extend his streak of tournaments under par to an amazing eight.

    Fellow junior Jonah Texeira tied for eighth at 2-over (68-73-71), his best finish since November at the Gifford Collegiate.

    Seniors Rico Hoey (72-71-72) and Andrew Levitt (73-67-75) tied for 21st at 5-over 215 while freshman Cheng Jin tied for 39th at 9-over 210 (67-77-75).

    USC moves to the postseason next, beginning with the Pac-12 Championships, April 28-30, in Boulder, Colo.
