Texeira Leads Trojans At The Western Intercollegiate

    The No. 10 USC men's golf team opened the weekend of competition with freshman Jonah Texeira scoring a second-round 58 to tie for seventh and lead the USC men's golf team at the Western Intercollegiate at the Pasatiempo G.C. in Santa Cruz, Calif. on Saturday (April 11). This tournament marks the end of the 2014-15 regular season.

    The Trojans are currently in seventh place overall at 727 (357, 370), 27-over par, and 20 back of first place Stanford. Play was suspended due to darkness with a few holes remaining to play.

    Texeira sits at par 140 (74, 66) and is tied for eighth place.

    Junior Andrew Levitt is tied for 34th at 7-over 147 (76, 71). Freshman Sean Crocker and senior Eric Sugimoto are tied for 37th at 8-over 148. Crocker scored 72, 76, while Sugimoto collected a 69, 79 score.

    Sophomore Rico Hoey is tied for 44th at 9-over 149 (71, 78), along with senior Paul Smith who scored 149 (76, 73) and junior Bobby Gojuangco is tied for 60th at 11-over 151 (71, 80).

    The players with remaining holes will return to the course to resume competition at 7:30 a.m. The final round is scheduled to begin at 8:45 a.m. with a shotgun start.
