    Oct. 3, 2016

Junior Sean Crocker and senior Rico Hoey each posted 3-under 67s to lead the No. 13 USC men’s golf team during the Nike Golf Collegiate Invitational second round at the Colonial C.C. in Fort Worth, Texas, on Monday (Oct. 3).

USC finds itself in sixth in the 15-team field after 36 holes at a combined 6-over 566 (283-283), registering back-to-back 3-over rounds. Vanderbilt is in first at 9-under 551 (275-276) while Florida is second at 8-under 552 (277-275), the duo the lone teams under par.

Crocker, who topped USC’s efforts in its season-opener, again leads the Trojans on the leaderboard at 2-under 138 (71-67), four back of a two-way tie for first.

The junior opened play with an eagle on the par 5, 565-yard 1st hole and birdied the par 4 7th to get to 3-under before managing pars for the remainder of the day. He leads the Trojans with three rounds in the 60s through five rounds.

Redshirt senior Andrew Levitt is tied for 27th at 3-over 143 (72-72) after his two-birdie, three-bogey second round.

Hoey helped off-set his first round with a second-round 67 to move to a tie for 32nd at 4-over 144 (77-67). The senior was three under through 6 and 4-under through 10, a bogey on 11 the lone blemish on the scorecard.

Junior Justin Suh is tied for 38th at 5-over 145 (67-78) after a rough second round. Senior Danny Ochoa is tied for 61st at 11-over 151 (73-78). Like Suh, he is making his season debut.

Final round action from Texas is scheduled to begin at 5:30 a.m. PT.
