Cheng Jin, one of the world's top amateurs and an incoming freshman on USC's men's golf team, is set to play in the The Masters this week at Augusta National, a berth he earned after winning the 2015 Asia-Pacific Amateur Championship.

Jin, from Beijing, China, will be one of six amateurs who tees off Thursday. Jin will be part of a high-profile pairing, joining PGA stars Zach Johnson and Rickie Fowler with a starting tee time of 6:26 a.m. PT.

Jin got to play with PGA legend and Masters champion Tom Watson during Tuesday's practice round.

Jin is ranked 18th in the World Amateur Golf Rankings despite playing a limited schedule. China's top amateur, he has played as an amateur in multiple professional events in China, winning the PGA Tour China's 2014 Nine Dragons Open, becoming the first amateur ever to win a PGA Tour China event.

In other PGA Tour China events, he was third in the 2014 Jianye Tianzhu Henan Open, tied for seventh at the 2015 Lanhai Open and at the 2015 Cadillac Championship and tied for 13th at the Pingan Bank Open. Jin also tied for sixth at the 2014 Western Junior Amateur Championship and tied for 12th at the 2014 Asia-Pacific Amateur.
