Fusaro, Enos Qualify For NCAA Championships At Zone E Meet

    Freshman Henry Fusaro and junior Dashiell Enos finished first and third, respectively, in the 2017 Zone E Championships 1-meter final on Monday (March 6) in Flagstaff, Ariz., and clinched spots in the upcoming NCAA Championships.

    Fusaro won the 1-meter with a two-list combined score of 719.05 while Enos was third with 694.50. Fusaro edged Stanford’s Bradley Christensen, who won the event at the recent Pac-12 Championships while Fusaro was ninth and Enos was fifth.

    Trojan freshman Caleb Dixon just missed a top 12 finish and NCAA berth with a 15th place finish with 566.75. Fellow freshman Nick Mamola was 19th (266.20), missing a spot in the 18-person final by 0.50 points.

    On the women’s side, sophomore Maddie Witt and freshman Carly Souza each reached the 3-meter final, but finished 13th (578.80) and 15th (568.90), respectively, and did not yet qualify for NCAAs.

    Witt and Souza will not compete in 1-meter Tuesday and will need to qualify on platform on Wednesday. USC’s quartet of men’s diver will compete on 3-meter Tuesday and platform on Wednesday.
