No. 13 USC To Visit No. 2 California, No. 1 Stanford

    The No. 13 USC men's swimming and diving team gets back in the water this week with a visit to its Bay Area rivals, racing at No. 2 Cal at 2 p.m. on Friday (Feb. 3) and at No. 1 Stanford on Saturday (Feb. 4) at noon.

    Saturday's meet against Stanford will be streamed live via Pac-12 Plus here.

    The Trojan men enter the weekend 5-1 overall, 1-1 in the Pac-12. Cal and Stanford are both 3-0, 2-0. A year ago in Los Angeles, USC swept Cal (149.5-148.5) and Stanford (167-133) for the first time since 1997. Troy's first win over the Golden Bears, clinched in a come-from-behind 200y free relay victory, was the first since 2000.

    USC SWIMMERS IN THE TOP 25
    USC swimmers ranked among the top 25 in their events include Dylan Carter in the 50y free (19.32, 7th), 100y free (42.14, 3rd), 200y free (1:32.61, 1st), 100y back (46.20, 12th), 100y fly (45.27, 4th), Santo Condorelli in the 50y free (19.53, 16th), Reed Malone in the 500y free (4:18.76, converted, 21st), Ralf Tribuntsov in the 100y back (46.45, 19th), Patrick Mulcare in the 200y back (1:41.65, 9th) and Carsten Vissering in the 100y breast (52.17, 2nd).

    TEXAS INVITATIONAL HIGHLIGHTS
    Junior Dylan Carter led USC at December's Texas Invite. Carter won the 100y free (42.14) with an A cut and broke USC's record in the 100y fly en route to second place with an A cut of 45.27. He was also second in the 50y free with a PR 19.32 and helped USC win the 200y medley relay.

    MULCARE COLLEGESWIMMING.COM PAC-12 SWIMMER OF THE WEEK
    Sophomore Patrick Mulcare earned CollegeSwimming.com Pac-12 Swimmer of the Week honors after a strong meet against Wisconsin. Mulcare won the 200y free, 200y back and 400y IM and anchored the winning 400y free relay in Troy's win over the Badgers.


    2016-17 SEASON OUTLOOK
    The USC men's squad returns three All-Americans from last season -- senior Reed Malone, junior Ralf Tribuntsov and sophomore Patrick Mulcare -- off of its Pac-12 Championships second-place team that finished 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the conference. Mulcare (200y back), Tribuntsov (100y back) and Malone (200y and 500y free) as well as senior Steven Stumph (200y breast) and sophomore Dashiell Enos (3-meter) account for six returning Pac-12 titles.

    Also back for the men this year are redshirt juniors and 2016 Olympians Dylan Carter (Trinidad and Tobago) and Santo Condorelli (Canada), both of whom took off the 2015-16 NCAA season to train for the Rio Games. Both are All-Americans and part of 2015 NCAA relay titles. Redshirt senior Ridge Altman, a 2015 Pac-12 finalist in the 200y breast and an NCAA Championships participant, has also returned.
