Reid Becomes Fourth Trojan Men's Diver To Qualify For NCAAs

    2015 NCAA Zone E Results Get Acrobat Reader

    Junior Deon Reid became the unprecedented fourth USC men's diver to qualify for this year's NCAA Championships thanks to an eighth-place finish on platform during the final day of the 2015 NCAA Zone E competition in Colorado Springs, Colo., on Wednesday (March 11).

    Reid earned his spot after scoring 638.15 points on platform to join senior Jordan Gear, junior Collin Pollard and freshman Dashiell Enos on USC's 2015 NCAA squad.

    Pollard was fifth today (708.80) while Gear was 11th (629.40).

    Meanwhile, senior Haley Ishimatsu, the two-time defending champion on platform, won the women's event today with 656.05 points while junior Sam Adams took fifth (532.95).

    Overall, Ishimatsu will compete on all three boards while Adams will dive on platform and 3-meter.

    Pollard will compete on all three boards, Enos on both springboards, Gear on 3-meter and platform and Reid on platform.

    Said USC Diving Coach Hongping Li: "The Trojan divers opened the qualification meet with much momentum. Qualifying six divers took a tremendous effort on their part and it was truly a thrill to watch."
