Enos, Fusaro Team Up To Win USA Winter National 3M Synchro Diving Title|
Dec. 15, 2016
USC junior Dashiell Enos and freshman teammate Henry Fusaro kicked off the USA Diving Winter National Championships opening day by winning the men's synchronized 3-meter national title in Columbus, Ohio, on Thursday (Dec. 15).
Enos and Fusaro won the title with 740.67 points over two lists to claim gold, out-distancing second-place by almost 50 points.
"It feels really good. We both go to USC. He's a freshman and I'm a junior, so our synchro has been improving. It was a lot of fun to compete with him," Enos said. "There wasn't one particular dive (that stood out), but both of our lists were consistent throughout."
The national title was the first at the senior level for Fusaro and the second for Enos, who won a 10-meter synchro title with Steele Johnson in 2012.
"We've been training consistently together for about a year. I think now that we're training a lot more together, our synchro and our timing is improving," Fusaro said.
Said USC Coach Hongping Li: "It was a very good day for Henry and Dash today. Their diligent training at home really paid off in their performance today."
With the finish, Enos and Fusaro have qualified to represent the U.S. at the upcoming 2017 World University Games in Taipei next August.
