No. 7 USC Men's Volleyball Sweeps At Cal Baptist|

Lucas Yoder had a match-high 14 kills to lead the No. 7-ranked USC men's volleyball team to a 25-22, 25-21, 25-22 sweep at Cal Baptist in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation match on Wednesday (Feb. 26) as Trojan head coach Bill Ferguson posted his 125th career victory.
USC, now riding a season-high 4-match winning streak, improved to 10-5 overall and 9-5 in the MPSF. Cal Baptist dropped to 3-11 overall and 2-10 in the MPSF as it lost its sixth straight match.
Johannes Brink led the Lancers with 10 kills.
USC hit .345 to Cal Baptist's .205. USC had more digs (24 to 16), but CBU outblocked Troy (10.0 to 8.0).
The Trojans got out to a 4-2 lead in the first set and Cal Baptist could never catch up as USC hit .583. USC was down 16-10 in the second set, but used a 7-0 run to forge a 17-16 lead and then Troy fell behind 20-19 before scoring 6 of the set's final 7 points. Down 21-19 in the third set, USC again tallied 6 of the set's final 7 points to win the match.
USC now goes to No. 2 BYU for an MPSF match on Friday (Feb. 28) at 7 p.m.
