USC freshman outside hitter Lucas Yoder was named the Off the Block Co-National Freshmen of the Week for his performances against UC Santa Barbara and UCLA.

This is the fifth time this season that Yoder has earned Off the Block National Freshman of the Week honors, the most of any player in the nation. In addition, it is the second time he has received the national award on back-to-back weeks.

Yoder had 21 kills (hitting .417) and 2 aces in USC's 5-set loss at No. 4 UC Santa Barbara, then he added a match-best 20 kills (hitting .410) in Troy's 4-set victory at No. 7 UCLA. He shared the honor this week with Erskine's Roberto Perez Vargas.

The previous week, he shared the award with George Mason's Radoslav Popov. Yoder had 19 kills while hitting .548 in a home sweep over Pacific, then had 12 kills (hitting .312) in a loss to No. 10 Stanford.
