Micah Christenson Repeats As All-MPSF First Teamer

    USC senior setter Micah Christenson repeated as an All-Mountain Pacific Sports Federation first team selection when the 2015 All-MPSF men's volleyball team was announced today (April 23), while senior middle blocker Robert Feathers made the All-MPSF second team and outside hitter Larry Tuileta was named to the MPSF All-Freshman team.

    Sophomore middle blocker Andy Benesh and junior outside hitter Alex Slaught were All-MPSF honorable mention selections.

    Christenson had 40 aces in 2015 (leading the MPSF in aces average at 0.43) and he also is has 995 assists and 213 digs, USC team bests in all categories. He is third on the Trojans in blocks with 66. Feathers is hitting a team-best .413 with 150 kills and shares the USC blocking lead (77) with Benesh. Tuileta, who didn't join the volleyball team until January after spending the fall as a backup quarterback on the Trojan football team, has 147 kills (hitting .274) and 94 digs. Besides his team-best 77 blocks, Benesh is hitting .385 with 142 kills. Slaught has a team-high 252 kills (hitting .248) along with 108 digs and 23 aces.

    The No. 8-ranked Trojans host an MPSF Tournament quarterfinal match this Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Galen Center, hosting No. 6 BYU.
