Slaught and Xepoleas Named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week|

LOS ANGELES -- Men's volleyball junior Alex Slaught and women's tennis freshman Meredith Xepoleas were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of April. 21-27, on Monday, April 28.
USC CREDIT UNION MEN'S STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
In a crucial fifth set, Slaught came up big with four kills. Assisted by Micah Christenson, Slaught paved the way to victory with a kill to bring the Trojans up 13-11, and then with the match-clinching kill to send Troy to the semifinals. USC is next scheduled to travel to Irvine, Calif. to face No. 2 Irvine in the MPSF semifinals at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 30).
USC CREDIT UNION WOMEN'S STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Xepoleas is now the fourth consecutive Trojan to win the Pac-12 Invitational Singles title, following in the footsteps of Valeria Pulido (2012), Kaitlyn Christian (2013) and Giuliana Olmos (2014). The Women of Troy are next set to compete in the first and second rounds of the NCAA Tournament onMay 6-7. The bracket will be announcedon Tuesday(April 28).
Also nominated for women's student-athlete of the week honors: Cynthia Del Core (lacrosse).
The USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week are voted on by the student assistants and Sports Information Directors of the USC Sports Information Office. Nominations are compiled and distributed for voting by Alec Koondel. Student assistant voters include Rachel Dobrin, Robby Kolanz, Dru Chavez, Colette Garcia, Andrew McKagan, Tera Novy, Max Schwartz and intern Katie Ryan.
