Yoder, Benesh, Orenic To Participate In 2017 College Beach Championship In Hermosa Beach|

USC seniors Lucas Yoder, Andy Benesh and Christopher Orenic will participate in the 2017 USA Volleyball Collegiate Beach Championships on May 11-13 at the Hermosa Beach (Calif.) Pier, part of the Team USA Summer Champions Series presented by Comcast.
The double-gender event will serve as a Team USA Trials. Teams will play for a spot on a USAV collegiate beach national team. The women's final will air live on NBCSN, May 13, 6 p.m. ET, followed by the men's final on tape delay.
Benesh and Orenic will play together as a pair, while Yoder will team with UC Irvine’s Michael Saeta.
Yoder, who was an All-American second teamer in 2017 after leading the nation in kills and points, Benesh, a 2017 All-American honorable mention pick, and Orenic all have ample beach experience.
Yoder and Orenic teamed in the 2016 World University Beach Championship. Yoder also competed at the 2016 AVP New York Open (with Tom Kohler) and he won a bronze medal at the 2013 FIVB U19 Beach World Championships in Portugal. Benesh won a silver medal at the 2013 AAU Junior Beach National Championships. Orenic competed in the 2014 FIVB U21 Beach Volleyball World Championships in Cyprus, placing 25th with partner Hagen Smith. He won a gold at the 2008 and 2010 AAU Beach Junior National Championships (he was the 2010 AAU Beach U18 Player of the Year) and at the 2010 USA Volleyball SoCal Open U 16 tourney, as well as silver at the 2009 and 2011 AAU Beach Junior National Championships (he also won 3 golds at other AAU beach tourneys in 2009).
USC will also be represented at the Collegiate Beach Championships by 4 teams from its women’s beach volleyball squad: Kelly Claes and Sara Hughes, Terese Cannon and Nicolette Martin, Abril Bustamante and Joy Dennis and Jenna Belton and Jo Kremer.
