The USC men's volleyball team concludes its pre-season competition by playing in the UCLA SAC Tournament this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 11-12) in Westwood.

On Friday, the Trojans face UC Santa Barbara at 5 p.m. Then on Saturday, USC meets Cal State Northridge at 9 a.m. and UCLA at 2 p.m. (all times PT).

All matches are best of five sets and will be held in UCLA's Student Activities Center. Admission is free, but seating is limited.

In addition to USC's matches, UCLA will play Cal State Northridge on Friday at 5 p.m. and UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at 9 a.m., while UCSB and CSUN will battle on Saturday at 2 p.m.

The UCLA tourney serves as USC's final tune-up before 2017 competition begins. Troy begins its 2017 regular season with a non-conference match at Concordia on Jan. 3 and then plays in the Big Ten/Pac-12 Challenge, meeting host Ohio State on Jan. 6 and then Penn State on Jan. 7 before opening MPSF play at home against Long Beach State on Jan. 11.

USC, which has won 4 NCAA titles and been to 14 NCAA Final Fours, is coming off a rebuilding season in 2016 when it went 7-19 overall and 5-17 in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation under first-year head coach Jeff Nygaard. Twelve lettermen return from that team, including at 4 starting spots (3-year starting middle blocker Andy Benesh, 2-year starting outside hitter Lucas Yoder, opposite hitter Jon Rivera and co-starting setter Gert Lisha).
