USC Men's Volleyball To Play In UCLA Tourney This Weekend

    The USC men's volleyball team will conclude its 2013 fall competition by playing in the 4-team SAC Tournament this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 22-23) at UCLA, joining the host Bruins, UC Santa Barbara and Cal State Northridge.

    USC opens play against host UCLA on Friday at 5 p.m. The Trojans then play twice on Saturday, first against Cal State Northridge at 9 a.m. and then versus UC Santa Barbara at 2 p.m.

    All matches will be held at UCLA's Student Activities Center (Men's Gym). Admission is free.

    In the other matches in the SAC Tournament, UCSB and CSUN play on Friday at 5 p.m., then on Saturday UCLA and UCSB meet at 9 a.m. and UCLA hosts CSUN at 2 p.m.

    Earlier this month, the Trojans won all 6 of its matches in the 12-team pre-season USC Fall Tournament, beating Hawaii, Cal Baptist, Lewis, UCLA, Grand Canyon and Cal State Northridge.

    USC, coming off a rebuilding season in 2013 after having advanced to the NCAA Final Four 3 of the previous 4 years, is led by setter Micah Christenson, who spent this summer playing with the U.S. Men's National Team, and libero Henry Cassiday.

    After the UCLA SAC Tournament, the Trojans host Alberta in an exhibition on Dec. 31 in the Galen Center. Troy begins its 2014 spring season with non-conference road matches at Loyola-Chicago on Jan. 4 and Lewis on Jan. 5.
