Mihajlo Milicevic Earns Spot On Academic All-America Second Team|
June 9, 2016
Already a two-time All-American in water polo, USC sophomore Mihajlo Milicevic now adds Academic All-America honors to his resume, named to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Division I At-Large Second Team. The business administration major is the second USC men’s water polo player to earn such a high national academic award, matching Second Team honors in 2013 by Matt Burton and a step ahead of 1997 Third Team honoree Brendan Grubbs.
A native of Serbia, Milicivic also was the recipient of the NCAA Elite 90 Award at the 2015 NCAA Championships in December. A two-time ACWPC All-Academic honoree, Milicevic was an MPSF Scholar-Athlete this past season as well. In his sophomore season for the NCAA-finalist Trojan water polo squad, Milicevic scored 19 goals while standing out as a defensive force for USC once again. He was named to the NCAA All-Tournament First Team this season as an upgrade from last year's pick to the Second Team. Milicevic scored in 17 games with a pair of two-goal outings.
