Kostas Genidounias & Team Greece Will Play For Fifth In Rio

    A three-time NCAA champion, USC’s all-time top scorer and a Peter J. Cutino Award winner, Kostas Genidounias has added Olympian status to his list of accomplishments. He and his countrymen on Team Greece may be out of reach of a medal, but their do have a chance to finish off their time in Rio with a win as they now turn to the fifth-place game in the men’s water polo competition.

    Today in Rio, Genidounias capped up with Greece for the consolation semifinals. Up against a tough team from Spain, Greece was ready to make a statement. The Greeks would pin up a 9-7 victory over the Spaniards to clinch a place in the fifth-place game. There, Greece will face Hungary in a rematch of a draw the teams wound up with during group play.
