Cassie Harberts Named Pac-12 Player of the Week

Cassie is the Pac-12 Player of the Week!

    Jan. 20, 2014

Cassie Harberts had a historic week in helping her Trojans to a 13-6 overall record and 6-1 mark in Pac-12 play with two more wins at Galen Center, and for her efforts the senior forward has been named Pac-12 Player of the Week for the second time in her Trojan career.

Harberts tallied her 800th career rebound and 500th career free throw during the two wins, while also knocking USC head coach and Trojan great Cynthia Cooper out of the all-time top-10 in career scoring. What's more, Harberts had her second career 30-point game - finishing one point shy of her career high - as the Trojans made history as the first team ever to score in triple digits at the Galen Center. Harberts started the winning weekend by leading all scorers with 22 points in USC's 81-60 victory over a tough Oregon State team. That's where she cracked the all-time top-10 in scoring. Two days later, Harberts had a game-high 30 points and added a career-high seven assists as USC beat Oregon 109-85 to record the most points scored by the Trojans since 1982.

This is Harberts' second Pac-12 Player of the Week honor. She last won the award on Jan. 7, 2013. Her win this week is the 44th such honor for the Women of Troy all-time.

Harberts and the Women of Troy next head to the Bay Area for more Pac-12 play, visiting California for a 6 p.m. game on Friday (Jan. 24) and facing Stanford in a Monday matchup at 6 p.m. on Jan. 27.
