In celebration of its first trip to the NCAA Tournament since 2006, the USC women's basketball team will be holding a viewing party for the 2014 NCAA Tournament Selection Show this Monday (March 17), beginning at 3:45 p.m. at the Founders Room in Galen Center.

The Women of Troy have secured an automatic berth into the tournament as champions of the 2014 Pac-12 Tournament. USC came into that tournament as the No. 5 seed and upset Arizona State, Stanford and Oregon State to win USC's first Pac-12 Tournament championship in history. USC was the first team ever to play in four games at the conference tournament, and consequently the first ever to win four games. The Trojans' semifinal win over #4-ranked Stanford kept the Cardinal out of the title match for the first time in history.

The Women of Troy have invited family members, alumni and athletic department staff to join them at Monday's viewing party. The event will be held at the Founders Room in Galen Center.

USC is under the direction of legend Cynthia Cooper, who is in her first season as head coach of her alma mater. Cooper won back-to-back NCAA Championships as a Trojan in 1983 and 1984. A Los Angeles native, Cooper also had an illustrious professional career overseas and in the WNBA, and also is an Olympic gold medalist.

The Trojans have accumulated a 22-12 overall record, doubling their total win count from last season. This will be the 16th all-time appearance in the NCAA Tournament for the Women of Troy.
