USC Signees Higgins and Moore Pick Up High Honors|

LOS ANGELES -- Two of the USC women's basketball program's incoming stars -- Minyon Moore and Valerie Higgins -- have been honored with accolades for accomplishments both on and off the court. Moore has been named the North Coast Section Scholar Athlete, while Valerie Higgins was recognized with a spot on the 2016 Jordan Brand Classic All-American West Team.
A 5-8 guard out of Salesian High School, Moore led her high school team to the North Coast Section Division IV Championship. Her academic prowess combines with her on-court skills to earn her accolades as the 2016 Cal Hi Sports Bay Area's NCS Scholar Athlete.
Higgins, a tall guard at 6-0, was a member of the All-CIF First Team while also being named SoCal Player of the Year in her time at Chaminade College Prep High School. She's earned a prestigious honor in her selection to the Jordan Brand Classic All-American West Team.
Higgins and Moore are set to join the Women of Troy as freshmen next season, along with fellow signees Asiah Jones and Ja'Tavia Tapley. In all, the stellar new class weighs in at No. 7 in the nation according to Blue Star and No. 10 according to espnW HoopGurlz.
