Trojans Advance To SDSU Farms March Mayhem Semifinals

    The No. 2 USC women's golf team defeated Yale and Old Dominion in the first two rounds of the 2017 SDSU March Mayhem at the Farms G.C. in Rancho Sante Fe, Calif., on Monday (March 20), advancing to the events semifinals.

    The Trojans, defending champions of the event and seeking their third win this season, defeated Yale, 4-1, in the opener as senior Gabriella Then won 8&7 while senior Victoria Morgan and freshman Allisen Corpuz posted 7&6 victories. Senior Tiffany Chan won 5up.

    USC played the match against the Bulldogs without freshman Muni He, delayed by travel returning back to Southern California, but were at full strength in their win over the Monarchs. Morgan won 4&2, He won 3&1 while Corpuz won as well. Chan and Then’s matches were called due to darkness.

    Tournament second round play resumes Tuesday at 7:15 a.m. with the semifinals to follow.
