No. 1 USC Beats UCLA, Duke To Advance To Liz Murphey Final

    A day after squeaking into the winner's match play bracket of the 2015 Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic, the No. 1 USC women's golf team dominated its quarterfinal and semifinal matches on Saturday (March 28) in Athens, Ga.

    The Trojans first defeated top seed UCLA, 3&2, and then defeated Duke, 4&1. USC, which tied for seventh Friday to get into the top bracket, will face Georgia in Sunday's final.

    Against UCLA, freshman Amy Lee won 5&4 while sophomores Gabriella Then and Karen Chung won 3&2 and 2&1, respectively. Juniors Annie Park and Kyung Kim were down a hole when the match was clinched.

    In the win over Duke, Lee won 4&3, Chung won 2 up and Park won 2&1 to clinch the win while Kim led by two holes when play was stopped. Then was down 1 hole.
