No. 7 USC Fourth After Pac-12 Championships First Round

    Senior Gabriella Then is tied for sixth while senior Tiffany Chan is tied for 14th as they led No. 7 USC to fourth place after the first round of the 2017 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships on Monday (April 24) at the Sewailo G.C. in Tucson, Ariz.

    USC, the conference's defending champion seeking its seventh Pac-12 title, combined for a 16-over 304, 14 shots back of first-place UCLA’s 2-over 290. Stanford and Colorado are tied for second at 8-over 296.

    Then posted a trio of birdies en route to her 2-over 74, including a pair over her final five holes to get into the top 10.

    Chan opened play 4-over through four holes, including a double bogey on 10 to start her round, and remained at 4-over after nine before finishing with a 1-under back 9 to close with a 3-over 75.

    Senior Victoria Morgan, who had three birdies today, tied for 23rd at 5-over 77 while sophomore Robynn Ree and freshman Muni He are tied for 27th at 6-over 78. Ree had one birdie on the day, He two.

    Action continues Tuesday and Wednesday. Troy begins the second round at 8:40 a.m. with Colorado.
