April 25, 2017
Senior Tiffany Chan is tied for fifth while senior Gabriella Then is tied for 14th, pacing No. 7 USC’s efforts during the second round of the 2017 Pac-12 Women’s Golf Championships on Tuesday (April 25) at the Sewailo G.C. in Tucson, Ariz. USC, the defending conference champion, is seventh after 36 holes at a combined 31-over 607 (304-303). UCLA leads at 1-under 575 (290-285) while Colorado is second at 6-over 582 (296-286).
Chan, seeking her first top 10 finish this season, opened her second round with three straight birdies and another on 5 before a spate of bogeys moved her to -1 for her front. She carded a 1-under on the back 9 as well to finish Tuesday at 1-over 145 (75-70), eight back of UCLA’s Lilia Vu in first.
Then is tied for 14th at 5-over 149 (74-75). She birdied 2 and eagled the par 5 14th hole to offset some troubles in between. She is after her fourth top 20 this year.
Sophomore Robynn Ree is tied for 33rd at 12-over 156 (78-78), senior Victoria Morgan, whose eagle on the par 5 5th hole was her round’s highlight, is tied for 39th at 13-over 157 (77-80) and freshman Muni He is tied for 43rd at 14-over 158 (78-80).
USC will play the Pac-12 final round Wednesday beginning at 8 a.m., paired with Oregon State.
