No. 3 USC Finishes 3rd At Windy City Collegiate|

Seniors Gabriella Then and Karen Chung each posted top 10 finishes while freshman Allisen Corpuz and sophomore Robynn Ree turned in top 20 results to lead the No. 3 USC women’s golf team to a third-place finish at the 2016 Windy City Collegiate Classic on Tuesday (Oct. 4) at the Glen View Club in Chicago.
The Trojans, who were looking for their second straight win to start the season as well as their third win in four years in Chicago, fell five strokes short, combining for a 54-hole 5-under 859 (281-287-291). Georgia, coached by former USC assistant coach Josh Brewer, won the event at 10-under 854 (282-282-290) while Stanford climbed into second at 6-under 858 (291-282-285).
Then led USC with a tie for fourth at 4-under 212 (68-72-72) while Chung finished ninth at 2-under 214 (71-70-73). Then went out at 1-over today and was 3-over through 11 before closing with birdies on 13, 15 and 16 to get to even for the day and back into the top 10. Chung was 3-over through 7 but knocked in birdies on 8 and 13 for her top 10.
Corpuz (72-70-75), in her debut event for the Trojans, joined Ree (71-75-71) in a tie for 16th at 1-over 217. Ree finished 1-under in the final round with four birdies. Senior Victoria Morgan tied for 32nd at 5-over 221 (71-75-75).
Senior Elizabeth Doty, playing individually, tied for 64th at 13-over 229 (76-74-79).
USC returns to action Oct. 14-16 at the Stanford (Calif.) Intercollegiate.
