Senior Victoria Morgan carded a 1-under 70 to lead the shorthanded No. 3 USC women's golf team on the second day of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Saturday at the Stanford (Calif.) G.C.
USC, playing without three seniors who are preparing for the second stage of the LPGA's Q school, are tied for fourth at a combined 22-over 590 (292-288).
Morgan, who will join seniors Karen Chung, Tiffany Chan and Gabriella Then in Florida after this tournament, is tied for fifth at 1-over 143 (73-70) after a strong second round that saw her sink five birdies against four bogeys, including one on 18 for the red round.
Sophomore Robynn Ree is tied for eighth at 2-over 144 (70-74) with one birdie on the day. Freshman Allisen Corpuz is tied for 38th at 9-over 151 (74-77) while senior Elizabeth Doty is tied for 45th at 10-over 152 (75-77).
