No. 6 USC Tied For 4th After Stanford Intercollegiate First Round

    Junior Kyung Kim, in her first action of the 2014-15 season, carded a 1-under 70 to lead the No. 6 USC women's golf team during the first round of the Stanford Intercollegiate on Friday (Oct. 17) at the Stanford (Calif.) G.C.

    The Trojans, the two-time defending champions of the event and coming off of its first victory of the 2014-15 season, combined for an even 284 to tie for fourth, five back of first-place UCLA (279). Host Stanford and Northwestern are tied for second (282) while USC is tied with Kentucky.

    Kim was 1-under on the front and even on the back en route to her 70, five back of first, three behind a two-way tie for third.

    Junior Annie Park, who won her sixth career title at the Windy City Collegiate, is tied for 17th with sophomore Gabriella Then at even 71. Park was even on both 9s while Then was 1-under going out, 1-over coming in.

    Sophomore Karen Chung is tied for 28th at 1-over 72 while senior Doris Chen is tied for 45th at 2-over.

    USC will begin the second round at 9:15 a.m. on Saturday, paired with Kentucky and San Jose State.
