USC CREDIT UNION MEN'S STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Cody Kessler displayed a dominating performance on Saturday, breaking USC's single-game record with seven touchdown passes in a 56-28 victory over Colorado. The Buffaloes had no answer for Kessler and the high-powered Trojan offense. The redshirt junior completed 19-of-26 passes for 319 yards, showcasing his talent in front of a Homecoming crowd at the Coliseum.
Kessler threw four touchdown passes in the first quarter and finished the first half with five to tie a school record for most TD passes in a half. He showed no signs of slowing down as he delivered a 75-yard bomb to Nelson Agholor early in the third quarter to tie Matt Barkley's single-game touchdown record at six. Kessler's record-breaking touchdown pass came later in the third quarter when he evaded Buffalo defenders, rolled out to his left and rifled a strike to the diving Steven Mitchell for a 24-yard score. Kessler and the No. 20-ranked Trojans go on the road to face No. 19 Utah in a Pac-12 showdown on Saturday (Oct. 25) at 7 p.m. PT.
