Michaela Michael Named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week|

LOS ANGELES -- USC senior attacker Michaela Michael (Hillsborough, Calif./Menlo School) was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Offensive Player of the Week for the week of March 20-26, the league announced on Monday, March 27. Kristen Hickey and Taylor Sullivan of San Diego State were chosen for defensive and rookie honors, respectively.
It is Michael's seventh offensive honor and eighth overall (one rookie honor in 2014). She accumulated eight goals, seven draw controls, three ground balls, and two caused turnovers over two games last week. In a six-goal performance against Ohio State (Mar. 26), she put up her third-career game with six goals or more and notched her program-best 32nd-career hat trick. She had six draw controls, two ground balls, and two goals at No. 7 Stony Brook (Mar. 24).
Women of Troy have now won MPSF weekly honors 28 times in program history with 11 offensive awards, 10 defensive awards, and seven rookie of the week honorees. This season, Trojans have been tabbed for five weekly honors.
The ninth-ranked Trojans (7-3, 1-0 MPSF) return home to McAlister Field after having played their last four games on the East Coast. USC will host Fresno State (7-3, 0-2) on Friday (March 31) at 4 p.m. PT and then will meet California (2-8, 0-2) on Sunday (April 2) at 2 p.m. The Trojans and the Bulldogs will be shown live on the Pac-12+ streaming platform and has been selected as a Twitter broadcast. USC and the Golden Bears will be shown live on Pac-12 Los Angeles and Pac-12 Bay Area.
