Robinson and Michael Named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week|
March 30, 2016 LOS ANGELES – USC baseball junior Timmy Robinson and junior lacrosse attacker Michaela Michael were named USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week for the week of Mar. 21-28, on Wednesday, Mar. 30.
USC CREDIT UNION MEN’S STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Timmy Robinson delivered a career-high two home runs in a 9-4 victory over UC Santa Barbara on Saturday at Dedeaux Field. He also added five RBI to tie his career mark. In the bottom of the fourth, Robinson blasted a three-run home run to give USC a 4-2 lead. Robinson’s second home run of the day came as a solo shot in the fifth to make it a 6-2 ballgame. In the sixth, Robinson connected on a sac fly for his fifth RBI of the game to make it a 9-2 USC lead.
Robinson also hit a home run last Monday in the 3-2 victory over Cal State Fullerton. Overall, he batted .462 overall last week with 6 hits, 6 RBI and 3 home runs.
USC baseball hits the road at Stanford on Friday (April 1) at 7p.m. PT.

USC CREDIT UNION WOMEN’S STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE WEEK
Michaela Michael scored career highs with eight points and seven goals to lead the Trojans to the 17-4 win over Oregon at McAlister Field on Easter Sunday. The junior attacker also added a season high-tying 12 draw controls and was 2-for-2 shooting from the eight-meter arc. Overall, she had a 100-percent shooting day and added a caused turnover and ground ball. Michael’s goal to tie up the match at two triggered a six-goal USC run that put the Trojans ahead, 7-2, with just 2:30 left in the first half. The Trojans’ scoring run included three goals from Michael. At the beginning of the second half, Michael scored her fourth and fifth goals within just eight seconds of each other as she secured the draw and ran to goal herself. The Trojans then closed out the game with a 6-0 run, which included a final goal from Michael.
The junior attacker also led the USC lacrosse offense with four goals, two assists, and a draw control in the 17-4 win over Dartmouth on Wednesday. Within the first two minutes of the game, Michael dodged her way to the goal and scored unassisted. She also scored the Trojans' second goal less than three minutes later. Michael furthered her scoring spree with another two goals in the match.
The Women of Troy hit the road to face Fresno State on Thursday (March 31) at 5 p.m. PT on the Bulldogs' Lacrosse Field.
Also nominated for women's student-athlete of the week: Jaide Stepter (track) and Avery Peterson (water polo).
The USC Credit Union Student-Athletes of the Week are voted on by the student assistants and Sports Information Directors of the USC Sports Information Office.
