LOS ANGELES -- USC senior attacker Kylie Drexel (Davis, Calif./Davis HS) was named the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) Offensive Player of the Week for the week of April 17-23, the league announced on Monday, April 24. It is Drexel's third-career award and the 10th for a Trojan this season. San Diego State's Harlowe Steele was named the Defensive Player of the Week and California's Susie Ropp was chosen for Rookie of the Week honors.

Women of Troy have now won MPSF weekly honors 33 times in program history with 14 offensive awards, 11 defensive awards, and eight rookie of the week honorees. This season, Trojans have been tabbed for 10 weekly honors.

Last week, Drexel collected totals of nine goals, five assists, four ground balls, and five draw controls while going 3-for-3 from free position in a pair of road wins at Stanford and UC Davis. Against the Cardinal, Drexel matched her career high with five goals, and set new career marks with four assists and nine points. She powered the USC offense and was effective on the ride with three ground balls and a caused turnover. In her homecoming game at UC Davis, she added four more goals and picked up another assist while scoring twice from free position. She also was a factor in the center circle by grabbing three draw controls. Drexel earned her 14th and 15th career hat tricks to rank fourth all-time at USC.

The seventh-ranked Women of Troy (14-3, 8-0 MPSF) are the defending MPSF champions and will host the conference tournament at McAlister Field this week (April 27-30). As the top seed, USC will have a bye through the quarterfinals and will meet either fourth-seeded Oregon or fifth-seeded San Diego State in the first semifinal game at noon PT on Friday (April 28). The championship game for an automatic berth into the NCAA championship tournament is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, April 30.
