GRAND LAKE, Colo. -- USC lacrosse senior defender Courtney Tarleton (Ridgewood, N.J./Ridgewood HS), junior attacker Michaela Michael (Hillsborough, Calif./Menlo School), and senior midfielder Amanda Johansen (Glen Head, N.Y./North Shore HS) were among the 48 student-athletes named to the 2016 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America teams on Wednesday, May 18.

Tarleton and Michael--the last two MPSF Players of the Year--were each selected to the first team and become USC's first-ever IWLCA first-team All-Americans. Johansen was chosen to the third team. Michael is the only repeat choice following her third-team honor in 2015. The IWLCA will honor all 48 All-America student-athletes at the IWLCA All-American Banquet on Saturday, June 4, at the Radisson Hotel Valley Forge in King of Prussia, Pa.

Tarleton, the 2016 MPSF Player of the Year, was chosen for her fourth-career IWLCA all-region award last week and is a four-year All-MPSF performer and four-year team captain. She leads the MPSF and ranks seventh in the NCAA for caused turnovers (2.50 ctpg) and was one of 25 Tewaaraton Award nominees.

Michael was the 2015 MPSF Player of the Year and received her second All-MPSF first-team honor this year. She was named the conference's Player of the Week four times this season and was also a Tewaaraton Award nominee. Michael was USC's first All-American last season and is now one of the program's first first-team All-Americans.

Johansen is a four-time All-MPSF first-team selection and made her second-career IWLCA first-team all-region appearance last week. She was the 2013 MPSF Rookie of the Year and has been one of the most consistent players in the Trojans' four-year history.

The fifth-seeded Women of Troy (20-0) advanced the furthest any Mountain Pacific Sports Federation (MPSF) team has ever gone in the NCAA tournament following a 14-8 win over No. 9-ranked Stanford on Sunday (May 15). The Trojans pushed ahead into the quarterfinals where they will face fourth-seeded Syracuse (18-5) in at the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, N.Y., on Saturday, May 21, at 3 p.m. ET (noon PT). The game will be carried live on ESPN3.
