The USC women's lacrosse team, in its fourth year under the direction of head coach Lindsey Munday, has caught attention nationally for the program's steady rise to prominence. In their inaugural season in 2013, the Trojans finished 8-10, but shocked preseason prognosticators by snagging one of just four available spots in the MPSF tournament. A year later, improvement was clear, but a 9-9 record in 2014 left the door open for a big 2015. In its third year, USC finished 14-6, played in its first conference tournament title game, received an NCAA bid, and won the program's first-ever NCAA game.

The success of the Women of Troy, and the team's link to the benchmark program Northwestern has become in the past decade has drawn comparisons between the Trojans and the Wildcats. In a special series called 30 in 30, LaxMagazine's Megan Schneider takes an in-depth look at the similar trajectory that USC has had to NU.
