INDIANAPOLIS - USC women’s rowing junior Krisztina Gyimes received her second-career selection to the Pac-12 Women’s Rowing All-Conference Team on Thursday (May 29). She was one of just two student-athletes to repeat honors on the team along with California’s Kara Kohler. Gyimes was also named to the CRCA All-West Region team earlier this week. Her selection the All-Pac-12 team gives USC 38 all-time all-conference certificates.

The Pac-12 also announced other award winners and honored Stanford’s Anna Dawson as the league’s Athlete of the Year and Cardinal head coach Yasmin Farooq as the conference’s Coach of the Year. Lauren Still from Oregon State was named the Pac-12 Newcomer of the Year.

Gyimes has occupied the seventh seat in the varsity eight since her arrival on campus last year. Immediately, she helped the Women of Troy win the 2013 Jessop-Whittier Cup at the San Diego Crew Classic and was a key member of the eight that hoisted the cup for a fourth straight year this April. She has been instrumental in USC’s success this season in the top boat with one of the top ergometer times on the squad.

The 11th-ranked Women of Troy are in Indianapolis to take part in the 2014 NCAA Women’s Rowing Championships at Eagle Creek Park, May 30-June 1. Last year, USC claimed a program-best fourth-place finish at the national championship regatta.
