    Did you know the USC athletic department is currently the nation's best in women's sports? Our Women of Troy won the 2015-16 Capital One Cup, a prestigious annual all-sports competition that determines and awards the best women's and men's Division I collegiate athletics programs.

    We want to invite you to be a part of the legacy of the Women of Troy. Come try out for our highly-ranked women's rowing team! No experience is necessary. We are looking for grit and determination to Fight On!

    Some say that rowing is the ultimate team sport, the oldest intercollegiate competition, and one of the rare sports that you can pick up in college and later become an Olympian. 

    Why row in college?

    What makes a good rower? 

    • Grit, mental toughness, the ability to work hard, and work with others 
    • Height - most college rowers are taller than 5'6" 
    • Athletic background in sports like running, swimming, volleyball, cycling, gymnastics, etc. 
    • If you are shorter and weigh 110lb or less, you might be fit for a coxswain position

    Informational meetings will be held on Thursday, August 18, at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. at Heritage Hall. Meet by the front desk in the main lobby and you will be directed to the team meeting room downstairs. 

    Tryouts will begin the second week of school (August 29). You will need to complete a physical exam, sickle cell blood test, and paperwork before you can start the tryout. Fill out the tryout questionnaire to let us know about yourself and receive more information!

    IMPORTANT: make sure you have time to practice - leave your mornings free before 10 a.m. Monday through Saturday. Keep your Friday afternoons free between 2:30-6 p.m.. Once you make the team, expect to have afternoon training sessions on land on Monday and Wednesday afternoons - have at least 90 minutes free between 1-6 p.m., preferably between 2-4 p.m. 

    Members of the team qualify for priority registration, but for now, you can adjust your class schedule to fit the team's practice schedule.
