LOS ANGELES - The USC women's rowing team has signed Caroline Boals (Loomis, Calif. | St. Francis HS), Isabel Fitter (Fairfield, Conn. | Rodger Ludlowe HS), and Katherine Hubert (Piedmont, Calif. | Piedmont HS) to national letters of intent for the 2014-15 season head coach Zenon Babraj announced on Tuesday, Nov. 26.

Fitter was a member of the Connecticut Boat Club and was coached by Liz Trond who also serves as the head coach of the US Junior National Team. In 2012, after just nine months in training, she was selected to the US Rowing High Performance Team and was recently chosen to the U.S. World Development Team, which competed in Spain. Fitter is a former swimmer with exceptional physiological capacity and mental toughness. She has competed in open-water ocean swims since the age of 13. With the talent and the profile of an elite rower and her potential for improvement, Fitter could step in and immediately become a major contributor for the Trojans. Fitter intends to study business and the film industry.

Hubert helped her crew win the 2012 USRowing Youth National Championship and is a member of one of most dominant junior programs in the country: the Oakland Strokes coached Derek Byrnes. Hubert won the Head of the Charles Regatta in the Youth Eight category this fall and won the prestigious Royal Canadian Henley Regatta in the Under-19 Women's Eight and Coxed Four in 2012. Hubert's exceptional combination of athletic ability, winning mentality, and leadership qualities will be a valuable asset to the Trojans.

Boals is a member of the Capitol Crew Junior program coached by Toby Johnson. She won the Golden State Indoors championship and was a silver medalist at the Southwest regional championship. Boals was chosen as Capital Crew's Most Inspirational Rower in 2013 and is a multi-sport athlete. Before coming to rowing, she was a varsity track and field athlete in the discus and the shot put, and played varsity basketball, and volleyball. Boals is a very talented athlete with a great attitude. She intends to study veterinary medicine.

The Women of Troy have wrapped fall practices and will reconvene in January 2014 for their annual winter training camp. USC will see its first racing action at the Pac-12 Challenge at Redwood Shores (Redwood City, Calif.) on Mar. 29-30, 2014. Please visit USCTrojans.com for a complete schedule.
